Why Istanbul Kent University?

Barrier-Free Education Foundation (ENEV) was established on 12.06.2015 to serve the development of society in the fields of education, health and culture, to bring contemporary, efficient and effective education services to young people and to introduce them to high technology, advanced technical and current scientific developments at international standards.

With the application made by the foundation, which is one of the first projects of the Barrier-Free Education Foundation (ENEV), in order to fulfill the duties listed in Article 130 of the Constitution of the Republic of Turkey and Article 12 of the Higher Education Law No. 2547; Istanbul Kent University has taken its place among the educational institutions with the Additional Article 167 added by Article 16 of the Law No. 6745 dated 07.09.2016 to the Law on the Organization of Higher Education Institutions No. 2809.

Istanbul Kent University, which was established as a public legal entity, subject to the provisions of the Higher Education Law No. 2547 regarding foundation higher education institutions, with the opening law; It consisted of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Art and Design, Faculty of Health Sciences, School of Health, School of Civil Aviation, Vocational School of Health Services, Vocational School, Institute of Social Sciences and Institute of Health Sciences.

Istanbul Kent University, Prussian Embassy physician Dr. Upon the suggestion of Georg Hermann Ritter von Mühling, the German Hospital, which was founded on April 6, 1846 with the contributions of the D.W.V German Charity Society in Istanbul, started its education in the historical buildings reconstructed in Taksim in 1874, by turning it into a campus built on an area of 22 thousand square meters.

Having admitted its first students in the 2017-2018 Academic Year, our University, which has 2 faculties and 1 vocational school, 19 programs and departments, continued its education activities with 760 students in the first year.

As the founding mission; Our university, committed to contributing to the development of Turkey, has given special scholarships to female and disabled students in its first two years. After the 2019-2020 Academic Year; Instead of female student scholarships, our students who are determined to be in need and approved by the trustees benefit from ÖSYM scholarships and Trustee Support Scholarships, which provide a more inclusive student base. Disabled Student scholarship: It continues to be applied according to the student's disability.

As of the 2022-2023 Academic Year at our university; 1 Graduate Education Institute, 4 Faculties (Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Art and Design), 2 Vocational Schools (Vocational School of Health Services, Vocational School), School of Foreign Languages and 8 Application and Research Center is located. It continues to contribute to the Higher Education Sector with a total of 60 departments/programs, nearly 6 thousand students, nearly a thousand foreign students, 219 academics and 224 administrative staff.

Our founding foundation, in the 2022-2023 Academic Year, 5 years after its establishment; It has opened Kağıthane Campus, one of the biggest indicators of its investments in education, to the use of the Turkish Higher Education Sector. Our Kağıthane Campus; It was built according to current technological innovations. On a total of 14 floors in our ecological campus; There are many areas such as 54 classrooms, 39 laboratories, sports and playgrounds, cafes, socialization areas, library, cafeteria and workshops.

Founded on 29.03.2018, our University's Faculty of Dentistry became a member of the Association of Dental Education in Europe (ADEE) on 13.08.2021 to maintain international quality standards in education.

Istanbul Kent University aims to provide a global environment for our students to study at universities abroad, thanks to international student mobility, especially Erasmus, and to full-time international students. Among the reasons why full-time international students choose our university as an international office is that our academic staff is strong and our location is very central, as well as the fact that it attaches importance to exchange programs, language school education and Erasmus mobility. As a peaceful university in the center of Istanbul, it improves both its education quality and international standards every day.

Founded by the Barrier-Free Education Foundation, Istanbul Kent University has always focused its goals on the future and education. At the end of these goals; It is aimed for our students who will study at our university to be sensitive to the problems of the world they live in and to find permanent solutions to these problems with the world-class education opportunities offered to them.

Another purpose of our university's existence is; To produce, develop and serve everyone by touching the dreams of humanity along with our young people, who are the real owners of tomorrow.
